Some absolute truths that not that many want to acknowledge but need to be said anyway, with love and firmness:
1. There is a God.
2. He is the God of the Bible.
3. Sin has separated us from him. Is. 59:2
4. The wages of sin is death. Rom. 6:23
5. That would be the second death…hell. Rev. 21:8
6. That’s why we need a Savior.
7. That Savior is Jesus. He is the only way to God the Father. John 14:6
8. We are saved by God’s grace through faith. Eph. 2:8
9. We are not saved through anything we do, so we have no room to boast. Eph. 2:9
10. That doesn’t mean God doesn’t require us to obey him. Matt. 7:21-27
11. Works of obedience are how we prove our faith is real. James 2:14-26
12. Our faith comes only from God’s Word. Rom. 10:17
13. We must confess our faith to others to be saved. Rom. 10:9-10
14. We must repent of what the Bible calls sin. 2 Cor. 7:10
15. That includes sins which are very popular in our culture, like homosexuality. 1 Cor. 6:9-11
16. To be saved and have our sins forgiven, we must be baptized. 1 Pet. 3:21; Acts. 22:16
17. Which means to be dipped in water. Acts 8:35-38
18. One must be baptized into Christ’s body. 1 Cor. 12:13
19. His body is his church. Col. 1:18
20. There’s only one body, so there’s only one church. Eph. 4:4-5
21. That would be Christ’s church, not a man-made church. Matt. 16:18
22. God doesn’t like the religious division of denominationalism. 1 Cor. 1:10-13
23. God wants us to be Christians only, nothing more or less. 1 Pet. 4:16
24. When Christians sin, God wants us to confess our sins and repent of them to stay forgiven. 1 John 1:7-9
25. He wants us to follow only his Word, not doctrines we come up with ourselves. 2 Tim. 4:1-5
